Bantwal, May 27: “The government has begun the village stay programme to provide on-the-spot solutions to issues of the villagers. There is good response for it,” said Bantwal tahsildar Dr Smita Ram.
She was speaking after inaugurating the village stay programme held under the aegis of Bantwal taluk administration, revenue department and Anantadi gram panchayat at Babanakatte school.
She said that the intention is to listen to the issues of the villagers and provide solutions on the spot and to reduce the gap between the department and the villagers.
Gram panchayat president Ganesh Poojary presided over the programme. He said that it is a matter of pride to him to organise the village stay at Anantadi gram panchayat limits. “I hope to obtain solutions to several issues in the grama,” he said.
Gram panchayat vice president Kusumadhara, taluk backward class development officer Bindya Nayak and PDO Ajith were on the dais.
Vitla assistant tahsildar Vijaya Vikrama welcomed. Revenue inspector Prashanth and village accountant Anil Kumar rendered the vote of thanks.
