Mangaluru, May 24: Recommendation is done in the meeting of district animal care association to provide financial aid to nine goshalas, who appealed for the same.
Giving details in the meeting, Dr Prasanna Kumar, deputy director of animal husbandry department said, “According to the orders of state government, land is identified at Ramakunja of Kadaba taluk for establishing district goshala. Two bore wells are drilled at a cost of Rs 36 lac in the first phase. Chain link fencing work around the goshala is in progress. Under Mahatma Gandhi national rural employment guarantee scheme shed will be built for the goshala. The work of the same will begin soon.”
Deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V said, “The NMPT administration has been requested to provide the necessary land to protect and maintain street cows under the limits of Panambur. If the goshalas are opened in temples run by the Muzrai department, their maintenance will be easy. Action is taken to provide land to build goshala by the district administration.”
The office bearers of animal care association were chosen to carry out the activities of the association throughout the district. Police officials and concerned authority from animal husbandry took part in the meeting.
