The victim became acquainted with Aswath when she attended her friend's wedding at Kinnigoli some years back. The two were in touch with each other over the mobile and had developed a liking for each other.
Last year in July, when the victim visited Aswath's house, he took her to his brother's house in the neighbourhood which was vacant with the promise of marrying her before indulging in physical intimacy. After the incident, the two continued to be in contact with each other over the mobile.
But, on October 24, 2021 when her college was closed, the victim visited Aswath's house and they indulged in sex again resulting in her pregnancy and giving birth to a male child.
A POSCO case has been registered at Bantwal police station against Aswath for causing sexual offence to a minor girl.
