Udupi, May 16: “I call upon the Hindu society to abide by the guidelines given by Supreme Court with regards to usage of public address system. Only during special occasions, let us use the mikes after obtaining special permission,” said Sri Vishwaprasanna Theetha Swamiji of Pejawar Math.
He further said, “For some reason, during the olden days, some religious centres are converted into mosques. If some temple property was purchased and converted into mosque, we do not object. For that matter, any place of worship, if purchased by a certain community and converted to suit their taste, we have no issues with it. However, if the same is encroached, then it should be reconverted to its original religion.
“We welcome the developments that are taking place now. This is a phase of time. All have to follow the rules of the court. If court has given a decision on matter that has taken place in the olden days, no one should consider that it as a setback for them.
“The Hindu places of worship have to be handed over back to the Hindus. Similarly mosques should be given back to them. It is suitable to abide by the guidance of the Supreme Court. A mistake is a mistake regardless of who has done it. It is not right to defend the wrong. The handing over should happen cordially without any friction. All have to cooperate for a peaceful and blissful society,” he said.
