Punjab police exhume buried body in Udupi for investigation

Udupi, May 14: The Punjab police on Saturday May 14, exhumed a body buried about one-and-a-half-years at Beedinagudde cemetery in Udupi in connection with the investigation into a case registered in Punjab.

A person was found dead at Malpe in Udupi in December 2020 under mysterious circumstances with no claimant to the body. The Malpe police buried the body aged about 31 and registered it as a case of unnatural death.

The Punjab police came across a case wherein the complainant stated that Tejinder Singh (31), was kidnapped and his last location was found traced to Udupi.

The body was exhumed by the Punjab police after getting permission from Malpe police and Udupi tahsildar Archana Bhat.

The Punjab police said the samples will be sent for DNA testing to ascertain whether the kidnapped person was the same person who died in Malpe.

    But, how they can identify whose body since 2020...many burials must have done ?? Whose bones for investigation? Yabba...onji chooru la artha aapuji...

    Cynthia DK they take DNA from bone marrow.It should contain mothers and fathers DNA half half .so long no muscles or finger prints are not there .I simply dont understand why dont they do autopsy before burry?Best is all un identified bodys should be burried only after a autopsy and DNA secured is.and sametime cause too can be also find .I see many times Police self say how the person died without any further investigation.Say suicide .whereas it was killed by lover in the case of mother and 10years old child.of late.

    Ok...but, how many bodies they should get to get the teeths of that particular person?? They cannot take the teeths of any random person. I mean to say, they should dig out others also whose names are not written on the grave ....

    Police are known to take photos of unclaimed bodies and preserve clothing and any belongings if adress proof is not found on the body or surrounding place. I hope in future forensic samples too are collected from the unclaimed bodies to help future identification so that mysterious and suspicious homicides can be revealed and family can give the diseased a respectable final rites.

    In this day and age of computers, I can hardly believe that our Indian police force does not have their computers connected, and do not have a shared data base. It is more shocking that they come back 2 years later to exhume the mortal remains of a person and link it to a person who was kidnapped years ago. Wonder where are taxes go?

    Digital India,Make in India ...... all are mere slogans. Even after six years of demonetisation still Old currency notes are found in crores now in 2022. GST implemented in 2017 already has more than three thousand ammendments in five years. Infact most central governments have not put their annual reports in public domain for past three four years and this government claims transparency in administration. You must have seen and heard telephone connectivity during corona covid 19 time in rural areas of India.
