Mangaluru/Udupi, May 13: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, May 13, reported five new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered zero case.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,541 out of which 15 are currently active.

 The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Nil corona case were reported on May 13, the total active Covid cases are one. One patient was discharged from hospital on Friday.

A total of 10,84,365 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,49,724 have received both doses and 68,313 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
