Mangaluru, May 13: International Nurses' Day was grandly celebrated at Unity Hospital, Mangaluru to recognize the dedicated service of nurses associated with the Hospital since its inception in 1978.
The programme commenced with a prayer song to invoke Almighty’s Blessings.
Rosyleena Rego, former nursing superintendent of Unity Hospital, was the chief guest of the fuction. Other dignitaries of the dias were chairman Dr C P Habeeb Rahman, director Ashfaq M Habeeb and Ameena Rahman and GM operations Devaraj. Other directors Fathima Sameena, Samiya Nasly and their families were present on occasion. Presence of Alumni from Unity Academy of education added extra zest to the celebration.
Nursing staff Jayashree with experience of 43 years, Hepsiba B Jayamma with experience of 25 years, Juliana V D'Souza with experience of 21 years, Sumitra P Hegde with experience of 14 years, Deepthi Angeline D'Souza with experience of 12 years and Leena D'Souza with experience of 11 years were felicitated for their dedicated service to the organisation.
The chairman’s message of ‘Nursing’ being the backbone of the hospital indeed was a 'boost' to the morale of the nurses.
Fun games and the cultural programmewas put up by the staff nurses and unity students which enhanced the joy of the Nurses' Day celebrations. Prizes were distributed to all the winners of the various events.
