Vijayapura, May 8: After the statement of Delhi gang demanding Rs 2500 crore for CM post by controversial BJP MLA Basanagowda Patil Yatnal went viral all over the state and opposition parties demanded a probe, Yatnal has claimed that his statement has been twisted by the media.
Speaking to media on Saturday, Yatnal clarified, “I only said that there is a gang in New Delhi which says that it can make any MLA chief minister if Rs 2500 crore is given to it. I never mentioned that the gang comprises BJP top brass. The media has twisted my statement."
“I had given the said statement in Ramadurga in a general way and did not mention the name of any political party. I said that there are middlemen of this kind and they do not belong to any party. However, certain electronic media channels twisted my statement and telecast the same," he clarified.
“Those who ask money for power and position are not politicians at all. There is no scope for corruption till leaders like PM Modi are there. The top brass of BJP has appointed CM Basavraj Bommai in a transparent manner. Media should telecast the reality. In future, I will share the statement that I gave and what media has telecast on social media,” Yatnal said.
Meanwhile, former CM and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah has urged for a thorough investigation into the allegation made by Yatnal and also questioned how much money did CM Bommai and former CM Yediyurappa offer to BJP high command.
