Belagavi, May 7: “I also got offer for chief minister’s (CM) post provided I am able to pay Rs 2500 crore to the certain influential people in Delhi,” said BJP MLA of Vijayapura Basanagouda Patil Yatnal.

Speaking at a programme at Ramadurga, Yatnal said, “Some people who arrived from Delhi asked me to keep Rs 2,500 crore ready for the CM post. I asked them where to keep such a huge amount? It is not a small amount. It needs godown or huge room to stack the currency notes.

“In politics, no one should go here or there and get cheated. Offers of providing ticket for elections and making of CM will be given.

“There are companies who cheat on the pretext of arranging meeting with J P Nadda, Sonia Gandhi and Amit Shah. No one should believe such people,” he said.

Meanwhile, KPCC president D K Shivakumar has urged investigation into the statement of Yatnal. He said that the statement given by Yatnal proves the prevailing rates for CM and minister positions in BJP.
