Udupi, May 6: MLA Raghupati Bhat has said that he is not aware of former minister and Congress leader Pramod Madhwaraj joining BJP.

Responding to the query of scribes in this regard on Friday, May 6, Bhat said, “There is no official information on Pramod Madhwaraj joining BJP. I do not have any objection to him joining the party. Recently, I met him during CM Bommai’s visit to Udupi. I was having breakfast. He had an envelope in his hand. He had asked for an appointment with the CM. So he had come to the Country Inn hotel."

“No discussion has been held with regard to Pramod joining BJP. If he joins, if not my opponent, he will be a contender from the party which looks for newness. We should be mentally prepared for anything that comes against us in politics. Our party teaches us the same. Whatever be the case, we should always have the strength to fight. Anyone can get a ticket at the last moment. That will be the thrill in the competition,” he added.
