Mangaluru, May 6: City police arrested a person in connection with two criminal cases that took place under the limits of Ullal police station on different occasions.
The arrested accused is identified as Mohammed Sameer alias Kadappara Sameer. He was arrested at Pumpwell.
It is said that on February 11 earlier this year, one Khader who came on a motorcycle to the NHA canteen brandishing a sword, abused the canteen owner and threatened him. In this connection, a case has been registered in Ullal police station under sections 504, 506, 149 of IPC and 25-1B(b) of Indian Arms Act 1959.
In another incident which was reported on February 26, Khader along with five others abused and threatened a resident of Someshwara and also attempted to murder him. In this connection, the police have registered cases under 143, 147, 148, 504, 506, 307, 427 and 149 of IPC and Column 4, 25-1B(b) of Arms Act.
According to police, Sameer was involved in both the cases. Hence, police sub-inspector Pradeep TR and the team arrested the accused.
Sameer has 8 cases booked against him under various sections of the IPC and Arms Act under Mangaluru city police commissionerate and Dakshina Kannada police limits.
