Kalaburagi, May 1: BJP leader Divya Hagaragi, the main accused in the PSI recruitment scam, has allegedly smashed her mobile to destroy evidence.
CID officials investigating the accused were taken aback by the shocking revelations made by Hagaragi during interrogation on Saturday, April 30. In addition to destroying mobile, she is said to have named other eminent leaders of their role in the scam.
CID sources said, “It is suspected that Divya tried to destroy evidence and cover up other people who are involved in the scam by destroying her mobile. The CID team is involved in the work of collecting the pieces of her mobile. In addition, the team is collecting minute details of her past 18 days of life when she was changing places to prevent her arrest.”
When the CID team went to arrest Divya on the late night of Thursday, April 28, she is said to have cried a lot and thew herself on the floor. It is said that women police officers asked her to be composed and brought her to Bengaluru.
CID team interrogated illegal sand dealer Suresh Kategaon, Kalidasa, who assisted, Archana and Sunita, staff of Jnanajyoti school, Saddam, driver of the school and Jyoti Patil, staff of city municipality. Everyone was interrogated personally. It is said that crucial details have emerged during the inquiry.
Medical examination of those arrested and the accused was also held on Saturday. After the interrogation, the women accused were sent to Mahila Nilaya, while the men were kept in M B city police station cell.
CID police have arrested 12 people in connection with PSI recruitment scam from Bengaluru. This has given more twist to the story. The arrested candidates have written the examinations in Ramanagara and Bengaluru centres. They are searching for 10 more.
Meanwhile, in the investigation it has been unearthed that there is a huge difference in 25 OMR sheets.
