New Delhi, Apr 30: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has accused the Congress party of always supporting trouble makers.
The Chief Minister, who arrived in New Delhi to participate in the conference of all State Chief Minister and High Court Chief Justices convened by the Chief Justice of India Justice NV Ramanna, said there was nothing new in Congress MLA ZA Zameer Ahmed rushing to help the people arrested in the recent Hubballi violence and said the Congress leader and the party have always done it.
Bommai said Zameer Ahmed supplied food kits to those arrested in the Hubballi violence and earlier he did the same during the arson and rioting in the KJ Halli violence in the City. “He is true to his party policy and stand,’’ he said.
The fact that other Congress leaders and MLAs have not commented on Zameer Ahmed’s actions prove the party policy and stand, he said.
However, KPCC Chief DK Shivakumar has already commented on Friday in Bengaluru that the party had nothing to do with what Zameer Ahmed did and mentioned that the Congress MLA may have done it in his personal capacity.
The Chief Minister said the question of banning PFI and SDPI would not be discussed with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to the State. The Union Government is fully aware of the activities of PFI and SDPI as they have been active not just in Karnataka but in other States, including Kerala and Maharashtra.
“The Union Home Minister will take a decision at the appropriate time,’’ he said.
The Chief Minister, who participated in the conference of all State Chief Minister and High Court Chief Justices convened by the Chief Justice of India, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, later had tea with Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and otehrs.
Bommai later called on Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and other Union Ministers and held discussions with them.
