Kasargod, Apr 22: The special squad of district excise has arrested four people on accusation of transporting MDMA narcotic drugs in a car and has confiscated the contraband drug worth Rs 10 lac.
Sameer, Sheikh Abdul Naushad, Shafi, all residents of the district and Aboobacker Siddique, a resident of Dakshina Kannda district, have been identified as the accused and who have been arrested by the excise squad in this case.
The accused were transporting the narcotic drug of 200 gram hidden under the seat of the car. The operation was carried out by the special squad acting on definite information that they got. The special squad personnel traced the car at Adoor, but had to chase the culprits for a long distance before waylaying them at Kuntaru.
The arrested have confessed to the crime during interrogation and that they had brought the drug from Bengaluru for selling in Kerala. Excise squad said that the arrested people are the main link who bring the banned narcotic drugs to the districts of Kasargod and Dakshina Kannada.
