Mangaluru: Two killed, one injured in van-bus collision at Pavanje

Mangaluru, Apr 22: In a head-on collision between an Omni van and a bus that occurred at around 8.45 pm on Thursday April 21 pm on national highway at Pavanje near Mulki, two people died on the spot.

The deceased are identified as Omni driver Bhujanga (58) and Vasantha Kundar.

Another person, Balakrishna, is seriously injured and is admitted to the hospital. All are residents of Padre near Mukka.

The mishap occurred due to the negligence of Omni driver. A case is registered in Mangaluru north traffic police station.

    RIP. What's stopping us from taking out private buses from roads of DK? These private busses are a curse to the society. I am still puzzles why the local administration is not taking any action of private busses. Be it Congress rule, be it JDS or BJP rule. Someone should put down the foot and say that's it. No more private busses on the roads. All should be KSRTC like Mumbai or any other part of India. Why there is an exception in DK.

    indian vehicles are well below international safety standards..here the main aim is to reduce cost as human life is cheap due to incessant breeding...better not to speak about road conditions...every journey seems to be the last one...but we are worried more about temple in mosques..beef...love jihad eetc

    Omnli is coffin on wheels drive at your own risk. Zero safety, gets mangled like a tin can even with minor collisons kiling all passengers instantly. Though it is discontinued by the company after implementation of crash safety standards by the central govt, still many old vehicles are on road.
