Mumbai, Apr 16 (IANS): Actor Pankit Thakker, who essays the character of Chetan Rawal in the show 'Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha' accepts the fact that there's no dearth of interesting age-appropriate lead roles.
He says: "With Indian content coming of age in the last few years, now there is no dearth of interesting age-appropriate lead roles for older actors. I want to get into an age-appropriate bracket of doing roles wherein it will increase the longevity of the kind of projects I can do."
He continues: "I know that I am not in the age bracket where I am playing a 21 year old boy in a tv show, and if i aim at that casting agents and producers won't take me seriously.I think I was smart enough to understand that, and I made that transition with the show, Tujhse Hai Raabta"
Talking ahead he mentioned about roles he wishes to play. The actor also featured in shows like 'Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii', 'Dill Mill Gayye' among others adds: "I want to be in a space where when people start writing age-appropriate roles for older actors I am one of the name to pop up in their minds. There are some stories that are palatable only in the OTT space and I want to be a part of those. As an actor, I can mould myself into the character completely. That is my strength. I wanted to do strong roles that make every project of mine memorable. That is the kind of content I am looking for, be it any medium."
