Mangaluru, Apr 14: The government of Karnataka has approved the proposal of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) to rename Ladyhill Circle as Brahmashree Narayana Guru Circle. Foundation stone laying ceremony for the same will be held at 7 pm on April 14.
MP and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada, V Sunil Kumar, MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, mayor Premanand Shetty and MUDA president Ravishankar Mijar will be present during the foundation stone laying ceremony.
Various organizations had appealed to MCC to rename Ladyhill Circle as Brahmashree Narayana Guru Circle. Last year, during the tenure of Divakar Pandeshwar as mayor, proposal was presented in the meeting and approval was given. Later the same was sent to state government for approval.
