Bantwal, Apr 13: “Though there are ample opportunities for tourism in the coast, the importance given to Goa and Kerala is not given to us,” said chief minister Basavaraj Bommai.
He was speaking after inaugurating the meeting of district level party activists at Bantara Bhavan, here on Wednesday, April 13.
“The economy of Mangaluru and Karwar will improve. Dredging is taken up in fisheries ports. In all, 100 speed boats will be provided under subsidies for fisheries,” he said.
“The government has decided to give impetus on temple tourism also. An industrial park will be identified for each district. BJP has the largest number of elected representatives in the country and has grown beyond Communist party of China. The party activists should work as the voice of the people,” he said.
“Congress does not have the respect given to BJP workers. The government and the party are like the two wheels of a chariot. The activists are the inspiration for the entire state,” he said.
Our opponents should be our weapons: DVS
Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that booth level activists should convey to the people the work and achievements of the government and elected representatives. “Let us consider all the future days as election days. Our opponents should be our weapons. We should not be weapons to our opponents. The activists should work to bag all the eight seats including Ullal and Dakshina Kannada district,” he said.
Minister Sriramulu said that BJP has given shelter to all like a huge tree. Congress has no moral right to criticize BJP. BJP will win 150 seats in the next elections,” he said.
District in charge minister V Sunil Kumar said that tours are being held in three groups for booth level activities by the party workers. “Next elections will be held on the basis of development and Hindutva. The party activists should prepare a list of beneficiaries of schemes,” he said.
Udupi district in charge minister S Angara said that Congress party are disappointed by looking at the work done by BJP.Ministers Dr C N Ashwath Narayana, Kota Srinivas Poojary, BJP state vice president Laksman Savadi, Nirmal Kumar Surana, Vinay Badare, Nayana Ganesh, MLA Sanjiv Matandoor, Umanath Kotian, Harish Poonja, Dr Y Bharath Shetty, Vedavyas Kamath, Udaya Kumar Shetty, Gopalakrishna Herale, Bharatheesh and Rajesh Kaveri were on the dais.
Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik welcomed. BJP Bantwal block president Devappa Poojary proposed a vote of thanks. Sudhir Shetty Kannur and Booda president Devadas Shetty compered the programme.
The police who had prior information of activists demanding the expulsion of minister Ishwarappa made them disperse before the arrival of the chief minister.
