Bantwal, Apr 9: Bantwal town police personnel arrested three people accused of stealing goods worth lacs of rupees from a pickup vehicle that was parked in front of a private company workshop at Rayappakodi, Amtoor grama. The arrested are identified as Manjeshwar, Kasargod residents Lathish Jogi, Vishwanath and Ravikiran. Goods worth about Rs three lac allegedly stolen by them was recovered from them.
A police complaint of unidentified thieves stealing a pickup vehicle parked in front of the workshop and the welding machine belonging to the establishment in the morning on April 6 was registered at Bantwal town police station.
Police formed two teams of police sub inspector Avinash and crime division’s sub inspector Kalaimar in the leadership of police station inspector and nabbed the suspects within 48 hours of submitting the complaint.
A pickup vehicle worth Rs 2,30,000, Rs 5,000 worth welding machine, Rs 1,500 worth computer monitor, Rs 7,020 cash and Rs 35,000 worth bike used for the theft were confiscated by the police personnel.
Two teams of police sub inspectors Avinash and Kalaimar, staff Narayana, Irshad, Manohar, Ganesh, Raghavendra, Nagaraj and Mohan in the leadership of station inspector Vivekananda took part in the operation under directions from Bantwal DSP Pratap Singh Thorat, guidance from district additional SP Kumar Chandra and SP Hrishikesh Bhagavan Sonavane.
