Bantwal, Jan 29: Saniha Kuppetti, a Class X student of Ramakrishna High School, near here ,was awarded the Dakshina Kannada district-level ‘Extraordinary Talent Award’ under the revised ‘Hoysala and Keladi Chennamma Project – 2010’, during the Republic Day celebrations held at Nehru Maidan, Mangalore, recently.
The Award was presented by the state Women and Child Welfare Department and Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat.
Coastal Development Authority chairman B Nagaraj Shetty, district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar, legislative assembly deputy speaker Yogish Bhat, deputy commissioner Subhod Yadav, ZP chief executive officer P Shivashanker, municipal commissioner Dr Vijay Prakash, police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, MLA U T Khader, and district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura were present on the occasion.
The Award was presented to Saniha Kuppetti for her extraordinary achievement in education, culture, arts and sports. It comprises a citation letter and a cash reward of Rs 10,000.
