Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 29: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, March 29, reported one new coronavirus case while Udupi registered zero cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,482 out of which 7 are currently active.

 The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,04,680 as fine in 96,200 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

No corona cases were reported on March 29, the total active Covid cases are 5. A total of 4 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday.

A total of 10,69,909 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,20,468 have received both doses and 53,591 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
