Mumbai, Jan 27 (IANS) The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Mumbai Police Thursday arrested a contract killer who used to work with the Chhota Rajan gang, an official said.
"We have arrested 31-year-old Avinash Rashid Narayan Mishra and have seized seven revolvers and 28 cartridges from him. Mishra used to work in the Chhota Rajan gang and he came to Mumbai to deliver the weapons to another gang member," ATS Chief Rakesh Maria told reporters.
"Apart from that we are also investigating if an attack on Mumbai has been planned in near future and if Mishra has been sent here to work on the same," he added.
Mishra was presented in the court Thursday and has been remanded to police custody till Feb 2.
Maria said that Mishra originally belonged to Devaria village of Uttar Pradesh and used to work as a contract killer for Sushil Pandey, who used to supply weapons to the Chhota Rajan gang.
