Mangaluru, Mar 25: Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra KV along with other dignitaries on Friday, March 25 inaugurated the multiplex cinema theater complex Cine Galaxy at Abhish Business Center in Surathkal here.
During the occasion, Nadoja Dr G Shankar along with dignitaries lighted a lamp. Mangaluru North MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty, mayor Premanand Shetty and Corrine Rasquinha, founder president of the White Doves, inaugurated three multiplex theaters.
Nadoja G Shankar speaking on the occasion, said, "Cine Galaxy multiplex cinema theaters is a pride to Surathkal. The people from Surathkal who were visiting Mangaluru to watch movies now will have the privilege to watch movies in Surthkal itself. These cinema theaters are no less than any other multiplex theaters in Bengaluru."
MLA Y Bharath Shetty said, " I had spoken to many builders to come forward to construct a mall with multiplex theaters in Surathkal but now the dream of theaters has materialized. People from the Surathkal region used to go to Mangaluru to watch movies and they used to sit in front of the television for entertainment. The multiplex theaters are attached with a food court. The youth here have taken leadership to realize the dream of theaters."
Mayor Premananda Shetty said, "After Surthkal was brought under Mangaluru City Corporation, several development works were done. Surathkal is equally developed like Mangaluru City. MLA Bharath Shetty too implemented several development programmes in Surathkal with his far sightedness."
Owner of the facility, Shashidhar Kodical said the dream of the people of Suratkal, Padubidri, Mulky, Bajpe, Katipalla, Krishnapura and surrounding rural areas to watch movies with family members will be fulfilled by the Cine Galaxy movie theatre in Suratkal.
"Cine Galaxy has three air-conditioned screens. Three different halls have been built without compromising on latest technology, sound, video quality and other things. The total seating capacity is 417," he narrated.
"The cinema halls have been built with UFO technology. The halls are equipped with rockers, gold sofa seats, private club class seats for the families and live kitchen. Galaxy Entertainment International Limited has plans to enable the movie buffs to view films at a low budget. There are several offers in cinema tickets and food court, said project head," Sudarshan Kote.
The theatre will start serving the people from March 25 onward. There will be 15 shows everyday.
Pushparaj Jain, managing director of the Abish Builders, and film actor Roopesh Shetty also spoke on the occasion. Venkatraya Reddy of Thirtha Groups, Multiplex theater partners Santhosh Suvarana, Shashidar, Shabarish, corporators Nayana Kotian, Sumitra Kariya, director of the company, Prajwala Shashidhar, supervisors Deepak Gangadhar, Renuka and Vidya were present.
The local corporators were also honoured on the occasion.
Emcee Anurag R Bangera compered the entire programme.
