Moodbidri, Jan 16: Art lovers arrived at the venue of Alva’s Virasat well in advance to relish the blend of artists from east and west. Violin players Dr Mysore Manjunath, Mysore Nagaraj and contrabass flutist Ned Mc Goven from America stood up to the expectations of the the audience.
American artist Ned also enjoyed ‘Vathapi Ganapathim’. A new flute blow was also enjoyed by the audience. This is the first time this unique silver coated flute is being played in India. ‘Walk with me’ by Ned which is composed in Charukeshi Raga entertained the gathering.
Pandith Ramkumar in Tabla, Vidhwan B C Manjunath in Mrudanga, M B Gururaj in keyboard, Ghatam by Giridhar Udupa received thundering applause from the audience.
P Jayaram Bhat, MD, Karnataka Bank, entrepreneurs Jerry Crasta and Ravichandran, Minister Dr V S Acharya and Dr Mohan Alva handed over the mementos to artists.
Variety of cultural shows also added vibrant colours to the day.
