Bengluru, Feb 15: Amid speculations that the ongoing controversy over Hijab in schools and pre-university colleges may impact the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh (UP), a plea has been submitted by the lawyer for the applicants to postpone the inquiry till the polling phase of UP elections is completed.
Adding fuel to the fire, BJP leaders as well as the party's official Twiter handle have shared private information of the girl students like their address and so on, in violation of their privacy. Widespread rage has been expressed by the public against the BJP leaders in this regard.
Two more writ petitions were filed in the higher bench of the high court on Monday with regard to the Hijab issue. BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel and BJP national chief secretary C T Ravi have shared copies of writ petition which contain the private information of the girl students in question on their Twitter handles.
In his tweet Nalin Kumar Kateel said that four students out of six who have filed an interim writ to postpone inquiry are minors. He has attached the personal information of the students along with the tweet.
Many have expressed shock and dismay at the tweet of BJP leaders. Editor of Alt News Mohammed Zubair questioned on his Twitter account whether sharing of personal information of girl students by the BJP leaders was against the policy or not. He has tagged DGP Karnataka, Bengaluru city police and Commissioner of police Bengaluru in his tweet.
