Udupi, Feb 10: The spark in the name of Hijab that was ignited in the government girls PU college here has spread all over the state. Now, information, evidence and documents are being put together to see that those who stoked the controversy feel the heat.
The six girl students of the college who argued that students of first and second PU classes were wearing HIjabs before the Covid lockdown, insisted that they should be allowed to wear the Hijabs. The college administrative council has provided documentary evidence to prove that only uniforms were allowed in the college. After the principal refused entry of girls wearing Hijabs into classes from December 28 onward, these students had started to study on their own and jot down notes by sitting on the steps of the college premises.
After the six students approached the high court, the college management has provided documentary proof to the effect that Hijabs were not being worn from 2002 onward. One of the girls who went to court is the convener of Interact Club. Her photo when she took oath, and when she took part in two other programmes where she had not worn the Hijab have also been provided as proof.
The information now being reportedly put together is about the people with whom the girl students at the centre of the controversy are in contact with, which secret meetings did they participate, what trainings they have undergone, mobile connections of the students and their parents, any links with foreign hand, terrorist organizations etc.
