Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 9: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, February 9, reported 103 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 97 cases.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,34,661 out of which 1,338 are currently active.
As many as 267 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,810. Out of which five deaths were reported on Wednesday.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,08,280 as fine in 95,245 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
A total of 97 new cases were reported on Wednesday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 1,473. A total of 423 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday.
Udupi taluk reported 63 cases, Kundapura 12 and 21 cases in Karkala. 1 case was reported from outside district.
A total of 10,37,526 people have received first dose of vaccination and 9,02,299 have received both doses and 38,136 people have received booster dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
