Bengaluru, Feb 3: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ather Energy and Electric Supply Companies (ESCOMs) in Karnataka in the presence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai here on Thursday, February 3 for setting up 1000 fast charging stations across the State.
The ESCOMs would be the nodal agency to provide all technical support and government agencies would coordinate with the ESCOMs to share their available spaces for the charging stations.
Ather Energy will provide free charging services for the electric two-wheeler vehicles.
The MoU was signed by Managing Director, CEO and Co-founder of Ather Energy Tarun Mehta and BESCOM Managing Director Rajendra Cholan.
MLA Aravind Bellad, Chief Secretary P Ravikumar, Energy Department Additional Chief Secretary G Kumar Naik, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister N Manjunath Prasad and other senior officials were present.
Later, a delegation of Grape Growers Association under the leadership of BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal called on the Chief Minister and discussed their problems.
Grape Growers Association President Nandrekar, grape growers MS Rudragowda, Dr BS Patil Nagaralahuli, Sanjay Patil Kanamadi, Sanganagowda Patil and others were part of the delegation.
Solur Arya Idiga Mutt Seer Vikhyatananda Swamiji called on Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at his residence in the morning.
Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N Manjunath Prasad, Joint Secretary G Jagadish and others were present.
