Dr Pradeep Banandur, head of the department of infectious diseases at NIMHANS says that districts which show a consistent slow down in a row for a minimum of two weeks are considered to have crossed their peak while the others are yet to reach the peak.
He said that in the case of the 11 districts, it is expected that the decline will start in two weeks and mostly by the end of February and we might be done with the third wave. By Friday or Saturday next, initially the infection may rise because of the removal of weekend and night curfew, he stated.
