Mangaluru/Udupi, Jan 30: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, January 30, reported 419 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 441 cases.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,32,174 out of which 4,413 are currently active.
As many as 791 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,751. Out of which seven deaths were reported on Sunday.
The district administration has urged the people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,14,36,580 as fine in 94,591 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
A total of 441 new cases were reported on Sunday. The total active Covid cases has risen to 3,257. A total of 1108 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday.
Udupi taluk reported 214 cases, Kundapura 121 and 105 cases in Karkala.
A total of 10,09,907 people have received first dose of vaccination and 8,53,403 have received both doses.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
