Bengaluru, Jan 23: Two students from the Department of Commerce of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) have been selected by Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA for the prestigious "Jimmie Smith” Student Leadership Experience.

Apoorv Maheshwari (6 B Com Strategic Finance Honours) and Puneet Kaur Anand (4 B Com Strategic Finance Honours) are the chosen students.

IMA chooses only five students from the IMA Higher Education Endorsement Program member schools around the world for this annual event.

The selected students will be participating in a series of virtual committee and board meetings of IMA and will be offered an opportunity to interact with IMA’s global volunteer leaders and attend the IMA Annual Conference and Expo in Texas, USA.

This is the first time that students from India have been selected for this event, according to the official press release from University.

The other students selected for the Jimmie Smith Student Leadership Experience are from the American University in Beirut, Lebanon, Dixie State University in Nevada and the University of Scranton in Pensylvania.
