Mangalore, Dec 12: A guest lecture on 'Laboratory safety practices' organized by the department of microbiology in association with J Mitra & Co Pvt Ltd, Bangalore was held at the conference hall, Fr Muller Hospital here on Friday December 10.
Dr Giridhar Upadhyaya of KIMS MICRO, Bangalore was the chief speaker. He spoke about infection prevention and waste management and even threw light upon PEP for the awareness and betterment of the technicians. Later on a brief discussion was held on the topic. Mr K.V Rao of J.Mitra & Company also addressed the gathering.
The programme began with Hilda Pinto welcoming the gathering. Fr Denis D'Sa, administrator, FMMC, Dr J P Alva, dean, FMMC and Dr Sanjeev Rai, CMS, FMCI were the dignitaries present. The heads of the departmentsof microbiology, pathology and biochemistry, the teaching staff, the technical staff, and the students of the BSc, MLT and MSc MLT courses were present among the audience.
Dr J P Alva, dean, FMMC presented a bouquet and Dr Sanjeev Rai, CMS presented a memento to the speaker as a token of gratitude.
Dr Thomas Kurevela proposed the vote of thanks.
