Bangalore: Gulabi School Celebrates Golden Jubilee with Zest

Bangalore, Dec 11: The Golden Jubilee celebration of Gulabi School was held at the BBMP grounds, Jayamahal, recently.

Floral arches and colourful illumination paved the way from the school to the venue, making it a spectacular show.



 

Sr Wilberta BS, superior general of the congregation of the Sisters of Little Flower of Bethany presided over the stage programme.  Dr Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore released the souvenir.

Arun Chakravarthy, director, security, vigilance & environment, Bangalore was the chief guest.  Dr Sr Lilitta BS, provincial superior, Bangalore province, Dr Fr Divya Paul, archdiocesan youth director, R Roshan Baig, MLA, Shivajinagar constituency and former minister T C Chandraiah, DDPI Bangalore North District were the special guests of honour.
 
The arrival of the dignitaries to the venue was accompanied by the stately school band.
Dr Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore led the ceremony of lighting the diya, the symbol of the presence of the Almighty and the virtues of truth and righteousness.

The special prayer of the programme was expressed through a dance by the students.
The jubilee message was delivered by Pastor Dr Kiran Norhona with praise and thanks for the glorious 50 years of the divine providence.

Students took turns to introduce and welcome each dignitary, past headmistress, alumni parents, and well-wishers.  The event was marked by honouring the torch bearers of Gulabi School.

Sr Wilberta BS, the president of the programme, honoured the former heads of the high school. Sr Paul BS, Sr Elizabeth BS, Sr Prima BS, Sr Rose Ann BS, Sr Clemency BS
Sr Lilitta special guest of honour, honored the heads of the higher primary school,
Sr Lidwine BS, Sr Trina BS, Sr Assumpta BS, Sr. Bonita BS, Sr Evelyn BS and Sr Susan BS.
 
Sr Assumpta gave away the prizes to the outstanding students. Dr Fr Divya Paul honoured the composers and directors of the play Kiriya Pushpa, the dance drama on the life of St Therese. Sr Ann Tresa BS gave the concept and creation
Jagadish Malagi was the script writer and director.
 
J Arun Chakravarth, IPS honoured the alumni officials - Syeda Meher Taj, president of the Alumni Association and Dr Latha S, secretary of the Alumni Association
The students presented a graceful welcome dance. Sr Tressy BS, headmistress of Higher Primary School, presented the highlights of the 50 glorious years of Gulabi School through a slide show.

The tiny tots did a spirited and colourful dance to bring in the merriment of the day. Dr Bernard Moras, archbishop of Bangalore, released the DVD, the souvenir of the school.

Students thanked the dignitaries, past headmistress, alumni, parents, and well-wishers for their gracious presence. Dance Drama, Life of St Therese-the Patron Saint was presented on the occasion.  The programme was concluded by the singing of the school anthem by the choir.
