Mangalore: Rains Appear in Coast After Long Pause

Mangalore, Dec 11: On Friday December 10 afternoon, and again in the evening, several places in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts received surprise rains. The city also registered good rains.

Most of the places in Mangalore taluk, apart from Bantwal, Beltangady, Subrahmanya and nearby places, also received rains for about half an hour. Moodbidri recorded good rains. A few places in Udupi, Kundapur and Karkala taluk got good rains.

The rains took the people unawares, and many were seen either drenching or scampering for shelter, as the rains made an abrupt appearance, after a long-drawn period of overcast sky.
