Mangalore, Dec 9: Vishwa Hindu Prishad and Bajrangdal have appealed to the President Pratibha Patil to accord consent to the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2010.
An 8-member delegation from Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajarandal of the district Dist met the President at the Hotel Gateway on Thursday December. The delegation members urged her to accord consent to the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2010, that was passed by both assemblies of the state.
VHP leader M B Puranik brought to her notice that further delay in approval of the bill will cause suffering to hoards of cattle every day and defeat the very purpose of the bill which seeks to prevent slaughter of cattle and distribution of beef through stricter law enforcement.
Dr V S Acharya, Sri Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt, Vinay L Shetty, state convener of Gau Raksha Pramuk, Krishnamurthy, deputy general of VHP, Thulajaram, Manju Neereshwallya, Sharan Pumpwell and Gopal Kuthar were part of the delegation.
