Mangaluru: Educational institutions in danger due to communalism, says Indian Christian Federation

Mangaluru, Jan 8: Prashant Jathanna, president of Indian Christian Federation, has said that education as well as educational institutions in Karnataka are in 'danger' due to increasing 'communal hatred' that has pervaded the system.

In a statement to the media, Jathanna said, "Of late, differences have cropped up between students of different communities regarding uniforms. Students are being used to instigate communal hatred."

His comments come in the wake of clashes between students of two communities in colleges at Aikala and in Chikkamagaluru, where students of one community wore saffron shawls in a mark of protest against hijabs worn by students of another community.

"Some students have said that they will convert Christian-managed educational institutions into Hindu ones. The district administration is not taking any action against such anti-social elements. Suo moto case should be filed against such people. The powers-that-be behind such statements by young students should be traced," he urged.

Jathanna further said, "District administration and police should take serious note of videos and statements that are given on social media asking to hack to death Muslims and Christians by sword. Peace in society should be maintained."

    We are all born, brought up, educated in this beautiful country India for last so many years. There was hardly a question if I was a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or a Christian? Lakhs of students of all religions, all walks of life were educated in various portals of various educational institutions. Muslim girls wore a hijab as per religious practice, there was never a question, neither an issue nor a problem. Now why are we heeding into some unwanted elements of the society who are trying to divide our society based on religion? Educational institutions are not in danger, our society is in danger with such elements who are supported by some strong forces hidden behind. Why our political leaders, elected leaders, bureaucrats, and similar people in power take stringent action against these goons who take law in to their hands? Take action and send these jobless people to work in covid wards of hospitals to serve society. Also send them to the borders to protect our land and know the difficulty of our soldiers. May be this will change situation.

    She can wear that Hijab after she comes out of school to preserve her modesty. Any diktat to muslim boys to protect their modesty like not talking to girls of other religion inside the scools. when Hindus do anything to protect modesty of their women, you people cry hoarse and the chorus group of your ilk will also say that it is moral policing?

These fanatics will ensure that, their children get best education in western countries.     Stop taking religion serious and put Humanity and Human Values at the pinnacle . There is no place of religious identity in Modern education institutions. The world have done enough of experiment for ages with Religious Education which is nothing but unequal , communal and very bigotry . It’s irrespective of any religion and no one is holy cow here. Hang the Cloak , Shawl and Hijab at door hanger before you leave your home to meet the world . Leave the job of religion to Priest , Poojaries and Mullahs to their respective place of faith . Public place in secular nation is only for democratic values and equality of religion , gender , Color , creed and race must be foremost .

    All this year's nobody had a problem with hijaab , after some bad influence on this kids , they have strted to creat such issues , and I belive if police and administration take actions such things would not have escalated at all , uniform has to be strict No doubt. Let is police , let it army or any forces they all have their strict uniforms , but it doesn't mean they ask a sardar to chop his hair or ask him not to wear a turbine, for Sikhs it's their pride , tomorrow u can't ask them to gve ho on their pride , similarly for a women hijab is worn to maintain her modesty , this are orchestrated political agendas who would do anyting to come in power .     Head scarf or Shawl or anything related to religious belief should be banned in schools. 'If They have freedom to wear why not these people ?' This question comes everywhere if one group of people allowed to wear their religious dress code. Let them wear whatever they want in streets but not in schools or colleges..

    Uniforms are prescribed to promote uniformity, feeling of oneness and unity among students while hijab and shawl breed communalism and fanaticism. Each and every cause of polarization in the educational institutions must be eliminated. Otherwise it will spread like disease in the whole society once these students are out of colleges. There should be a ban on students’ unions affiliated to political parties and communal organizations. In US public schools even religious books and literature are not permitted in order to maintain the secular fabric of the nation.

    Inside the school campus dress code as prescribed by the school authorities prevails. But conditional demand and challenge the school by students to wear shawl until hijab is banned is illegal and not accepted. Students don’t have that right to demand. Students of all faith has right to attend any school of thier choice provided they follow and respect the rules of that school.

    Dear HENRY MISQUITH, India , Warning was and is right. Value system has evaporated a long time ago. If there was indeed value system, why will the principal de-cloth a student for bringing mobile phones? As if there is no other way of bringing discipline? Value system behind ill-treated aged parents, especially the educated kids, was this provided by the School? Most importantly, the way the kids (those that are vulnerable) today are facing jungle-raj, was this provided in School? The only value system we got or did not get from school is Money rules supreme. Again, proof of this is in Puranas also. Value system needs to be respected and followed by the society. School can give, but the education imparted is thrown into dustbin the very moment certificate is handed over.....then value system is the least priority. Sad but true. A PERTINENT POINT FROM YOU....REALLY APPRECIATE..!!

    Make it mandatory to sign an undertaking from the student as well as parents that none of them will not bring in any communal condition until the student is on the roll. Failing to which, the institution is free to terminate him/her without warning. All will be straightened up. Once terminated, let them go and join their instigators, whether PFI or VHP/BD.

    Leave all your individual beliefs, privileges outside all public places like education institutes, government offices, etc., and follow the uniform code of conduct including uniform dress'. The place where you live or own belongs to you, therefore your beliefs, privileges can be practiced at your premises...

    Uniform should be compatible to all. Here issue is "cover" or "expose". There is no problem to any community, if they cover. Where as for another community, they cannot expose. In such cases, best choice is to cover. If you do not want to cover, let others cover, whoever wants to cover. There is no harm. I have studied in Jain school. Once, a chief priest of that community visited our school. We gave respect to him. Because he is strictly following his religion. We cannot say that we come to school same like him. Different communities have different practices. We should respect, everybody's belief.
