Udupi: Youth Mistakenly Consumes Poison – Dies in Hospital

Udupi, Dec 9: A person, who consumed rat poison mistakenly, thinking it to be a medicine, lost his life on Tuesday in a hospital here. He has been identified as Santosh Poojary (20), son of Jayakar Poojary from Kelarkalabettu village.

The youth, who was suffering from severe headache, had consumed rat poison on November 30. He started vomiting the next day. During tests, it came to light that he had consumed poison. He was admitted into a hospital, where he was treated for a week. However, his condition did not improve, and the poison he had consumed, took away his life.

A case has been registered in Malpe police station in this connection.
