Mangaluru, Jan 5: A couple which was under separation due to family issues since October 2021, were reunited due to the intervention of District Legal Services Authority on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Narayan (48) (name changed) and Sarala (46) (name changed) are the estranged couple brought together again by the efforts of the authority. Both are residents of Marakada in the city. They had decided to separate due to some differences between them.
Narayan has done B Pharma and was running a pharmacy shop. His wife Sarala is a BAMS graduate who had a clinic by the side of his shop. Sarala had kept her earnings in fixed deposits in the name of their children. However, owing to some serious issues in their family, the couple got separated. Sarala went to Siddapura in Udupi and was living with her children there. Later, she submitted an appeal to the District Legal Services Authority seeking alimony.

The authority held four sessions of counseling with the couple. These sessions guide them to live a happy life together. Finally, the authority's efforts paid off and the couple reunited on its wedding anniversary day of January 4.
Judge Muralidhar Pai B of Chief District and Sessions Court and also president of the authority and senior civil judge Prithviraj Varnekar held separate counseling sessions with the couple and was successful in reuniting the couple in a very short span.
The happy couple has lauded the efforts of the legal services authority. Now they advise other couples in a quandary to seek the intervention of the authority for a sustainable marital life.
