Shimoga, Dec 5: State BJP president K S Eshwarappa expressed disappointment over lokayukta N Santosh Hegde depicting those facing allegations as criminals even before they are tried in the court of law.

He was speaking after inaugurating the preparatory meeting in connection with the taluk panchayat and zilla panchayat elections here on Saturday December 4. Eswarappa criticizing the stance of the lokayukta said that if that was the case that there was no need for courts. It is known that a person alleged does not become a convict the moment firast information report is file, he observed.

He also lamented about the issue of lokayukta giving details of the case to the media even befire it is taken up for investigation.

He clarified that the party was not trying to cover up the scams in any manner. In this backdrop the given by the Congress and the JD (S) against the BJP leaders had no substance but only a political gimmick, he remarked.
