Shimoga: Naxal Gang Visits Villages, Seeks Support

Shimoga, Dec 4: A gang of eight naxals visited Naloor, Shuntihaklu and Bobbi villages in Teerthahalli taluk bordering Udupi district, on Thursday December 2. The gang had three female members, the villager said.

The gang visited the house of Ramesh, a member of Naloor gram panchayat, and consumed food at his home. After visiting the villages and seeking support for their activities from the villagers, the gang made a hurried exist.

After getting information on Friday December 3 morning about the incident, policemen rushed to the villages and collected details. They also began search operations in strategic locations in the forest. They suspect that the naxal gang, which escaped after their leader, Ranjith, was arrested in Udupi district, has entered this district.
