Madikeri: Small Growers Urge Not to Accord World Heritage Site to Sanctuaries

Madikeri, Dec 3: The district Small Growers' Association through a memorandum to Unesco has urged to drop the proposal of world heritage site to Brahmagiri, Pushpagiri and Talacauvery sanctuaries.

Addressing presspersons, association office-bearer Cheranda Nanda Subbaiah said that there has been no public discussions on according world heritage sites tag to these sanctuaries. He alleged that the
propsal was the plot of environmentalists and no MLAs or MPS have information on the proposal.

Association president C M Kaveriappa has written a letter to Unesco director-general Irina Bokova on November 7.
