Udupi: Annual Feast of St Francis Xavier Parish, Udyavar Celebrated

Udupi, Dec 2: The annual feast of St Francis Xavier Parish, Udyavar, near here, was celebrated on Tuesday November 30 and Wednesday December 1.

Fr Noronha presented the blessed candles to Crasto family, the main sponsors of festal Eucharistic celebrations on Wednesday.

Fr Baptist Menezes Episcopal Vicar of Udupi, presided over the grand festal Eucharistic celebrations on Wednesday morning, along with Fr Mathew P Vas, vicar of Udupi deanery, and many priests from the
deanery and neighbouring parishes.

Fr Baptist Menezes, in his homily, urged the faithful to derive inspiration from the spiritual life of St Francis Xavier who had chosen to live life in Christ, We have to give the space in our daily life for the
God’s word. We have to believe and should have faith in god’s word along with that we have to spread it.

Udyavar parish priest Fr Noronha thanked, parish council vice-president Godfrey D’Souza, and secretary Lawrence D’sa, for their generous contributions to the annual feast and to all the members of the parish council.

Fr Noronha along with Fr Martis and Deacon Anil conveyed best wishes of the feast to all parishioners after the Eucharistic celebrations.

Fr Melwyn Noronha, assistant parish priest of Udupi parish, celebrated the festal Eucharistic Mass on Tuesday night.

Fr Melwyn, in his homily, said that we should have faith in god’s word. Believing gods word many People became Saint. So we all give the important to god’s word in our daily life.

Fr Baptist Menezes, episcopal vicar of Udupi, Fr Mathew Vas, vicar deanery of Udupi deanery and parish priest of Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi, Kallianpur parish priest and Kallianpur deanery vicar
Fr Marcel Saldhana, many priests from the deanery and neighbouring parishes, also joined in the Eucharistic celebrations along with Fr Charles Noronha, Fr William Martis, and Fr Melwyn Noronha.

The Holy Mass concluded with Adoration to the Holy Sacrament. A large number of parishioners attended the Holy Mass.

An attractive display of fireworks was also held after the Holy Mass on the parish grounds.
