Sullia: Man Relieved of Rs 3.60 lac by Diverting Attention

Sullia, Dec 2: In a complaint filed with the local police station, M S Krishna Bhat, resident of Mupperiya, stated that a sum of Rs 3,60,900 had been stolen from his possession by diverting his attention on Wednesday December 1 afternoon. The incident occurred when he was sitting in his vehicle after drawing money from a cooperative bank here.

Bhat had drawn Rs 3,53,900, which was the maturity proceeds of his deposit with the cooperative bank. He already had another Rs 7,000 with him. When he was about drive away, a person reportedly told him that some currency notes had fallen down from his possession. When he bowed down to verify, someone took his bag containing cash and fled, he explained. In addition to cash, he reportedly lost pass books of banks, ration card, and some other documents.

Bhat told the policemen that he wanted the money for agricultural development purposes, and that the sum was supposed to be deposited in a cooperative bank functioning near his home.
