Udupi: Students of Kaup Vidyaniketan Organise Rally on AIDS Awareness

Udupi, Dec 1:
K P Acharya, secretary of Kaup Vidyaniketan Education Institutions Group said that the government should come forward to provide free education and rehabilitation facilities for the HIV/AIDS infected children.
 
He spoke after inaugurating a rally organized under the aegis of State AIDS Prevention Society and Kaup Vidyaniketnan Education Institutions Group in Kaup on Wednesday December 1.

He added that the government has been allocating money to many non-government organizations of the districts in order to create awareness about HIV/AIDS, but it should be used properly by conducting useful programmes.
 
The rally was led by the students of Kaup Vidyaniketan which initiated from Vidyaniketan and culminated in Kaup street. Later the students shouted slogans and distributed handbills to the public. They also performed a skit and a street play.
 
Padubidri ICTC center convener Sujaya, Kaup Rotary Club president Ananth Padiyar, Mangalore KMF director Kaup Divakar Shetty, Manohar Ram Paniyoor, Prof V K Udyavar, Santhosh Kumar among others were present on the occasion.
 
The rally was also organized in Kaup Dandatheertha School. Secretary Dr Prabhakar Setty flagged-off the rally. Principal Alban Rodrigues, vice-principal Neelananda Naik and other teaching staff were present on the occasion.
