Bantwal, Nov 30: “Necessary action will be taken to fill vacant posts in all town councils, zilla panchayats, and town panchayats in the state in a month”, said Suresh Kumar, minister for urban development and civic administration.
He was addressing the officers and employees of the town council during his visit here on Tuesday November 30. Kumar distributed identity cards under the Vajpayee health insurance scheme to members of the scheduled caste and scheduled tribes on the occasion.
He also assured that he would try to get released a special package for Bantwal town development by chief minister (CM) B S Yeddyurappa. Kumar added that he would draw the attention of the CM towards filling the 31 vacant posts in Bantwal town council.
He announced that a meeting will be convened shortly in Bangalore with Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner (DC) and department officers to discuss the slow phase of ongoing four lane conversion and underground drainage work.
Coastal Development Authority chairman B Nagaraj Shetty, former MLA K Padmanabha Kottari, town councilor Dinesh Bhandary, deputy councilor Janaki Gopal, and Bantwal Urban Development Authority chairman Govind Prabhu were present on the occasion.
