Mangalore, Dec 1: During the visit of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Dr Parameshwar, to the city, several Congress leaders had gone to the local airport to welcome him on Tuesday January 30. After two Congress leaders were involved in a verbal friction on this occasion, a police complaint was filed.

Hundreds of Congress activists and leaders witnessed the verbal duel between Dakshina Kannada district Congress president, Ramanath Rai, and Indian National Trade Union Congress district president, Rakesh Malli. The incident would have gone out of hand, but for the timely intervention of some senior party leaders.

After the incident, Rakesh Malli visited Bajpe police station and filed a complaint against Ramanath Rai there. At the conference of the party workers held at Town Hall here later, the name of Rakesh Malli, who was at the dais, was notably left out by Ramanath Rai in his welcome address.
