Udupi, Dec 1: In an incident that occurred in front of Hosa Marigudi in Kaup near here on Tuesday November 30, several vehicles parked under a huge tree suffered extensive damages, after a huge branch of the tree in question cracked and fell on them. The loss in this incident is put at a few lacs of rupees.
Scores of vehicles are normally parked under the shadow of the above tree. At around 11.45 am, a branch of the tree snapped and came down heavily on the parked vehicles. While three cars and a motor bike were crushed under the weight of the branch, two auto rickshaws suffered partial damages. Luckily, no one was present at either the auto park or the vehicles under the tree.
Kaup police station house officer, Mohan Kottary, with the assistance of other personnel, arranged for the removal of the branch.
