Mangalore, Nov 30: As part of syllabus, first and second pre-university students of St Aloysius PU College organized an exhibition to showcase the living experience of French civilization at the Loyola Hall of the college on Monday Noember 29.
The stage programme began with the cutting of the ribbon by the chief guest Fr Melwin Pinto, headmaster, St Aloysius High School accompanied by Akhil and Saira Saldanha.
A prayer song was sung by the students to bless the occasion.
Prof John D'Silva, principal, St Aloysius PUC, Fr Rudolph Noronha, vice principal, St Aloysius PUC and Charmaine Rego, French lecturer were the chief guests.
Famous French dances were performed by the students.
One such popular dance was the "Cancan Dance" which was performed by the girls amid appreciation by the audience.
Next came the depiction of the celebrations of the July 14, which is known as "Bastille's Day" in France where various celebrities walked on to stage, each one with a little intro about themselves! The caricatures left the audience spellbound with their stunning costumes.
Beautiful combination of culinary and artistic display was done at the exhibition.
There was a spectacular display of a fine spread of delicious delicacies like the Chocolat Gateau,home-made chocolates, Cheesecakes, Mousses, chocolates, beautiful paintings, models of famous statues like the Eiffel Tower, L'Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees, information regarding French Aristocrats, Leaders, Footballers etc.
Dhiren Monteiro delivered the vote of thanks. Mitali Pinto and Pablo Soans compered the programme.
