Moodbidri, Nov. 22: The feast of confraternity (Comprichen Festh) was celebrated with traditional joy and gaiety at Corpus Christi Church here on Sunday November 21.
Large number of people attended the mass held in the church at 4.00 pm.
The main celebrant was Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator, Fr Muller Medical College, Mangalore , concelebrated by the parish priest Fr Austin Peter Peres, Fr Basil Vas, parish priest, Alangar Church and Fr Arun D'Silva.
The celestial choir was led by Fr Abel Lobo.
Soon after the procession started at around 5.45 pm though it was drizzling people participated with devotion and enthusiasm. Even though it rained and electricity failed, people did not fail in their commitment to participate in the procession.
In order to support the projects of church, especially the extension of the existing hall, a small scheme was launched on the occasion of confraternity Sunday.
The lucky person will get a brand new “Passion Pro” on January 1, 2011. The lucky coupon will be from the minimum Rs 1 to maximum Rs 1,000.
Parish priest Fr Austin Peter Peres, inaugurated the scheme by drawing the first lucky coupon, followed by Fr Denis D’Sa, parish vice-president Norbert Martis and parish secretary Celine D’Souza among others.
