Panaji: Babri Masjid demolition anniversary – Five held for unauthorised protest

Panaji, Dec 7: Five people were arrested by Fatorda police for protesting in Margao against the demolition of Babri Masjid.

The arrested are identified as Shaikh Muzaffar Ahmad, resident of Arlem, Sayed Iftiyaz, resident of Madel, Rayees Anjum, resident of Borda, Imran Mohammed, resident of Davorlim and Zabir Ahmed Shaikh from Shirvodem.

Police disclosed that the arrested are members of SDPI and PFI. A case under sections 143, 145, 153-a, and 149 of IPC is slapped against the arrested. These five men along with 100 other people gathered without permission from the administration near the collectorate of South Goa.
